Accelerate2030 National Scale Ready Zambia (Accelerate2030 or A2030) is an accelerator program which was implemented by Impact Hub Lusaka in partnership with Accelerate2030 global and 4ip Group. The program had 12 startups from three different countries – DR Congo, Malawi and Zambia, and they were represented by incredible entrepreneurs. At global level, the program was implemented in 26 plus countries with developing and emerging economies – Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. Accelerate2030, an initiative whose founding partners include the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Geneva and Impact Hub Global is the world’s largest platform through which businesses and other stakeholders can, while pursuing their mission, collaborate to contribute to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at national and global level.
Over a course of four months June – September 2021, the program ran a series of four bootcamp sessions for the participating startups on the program. The sessions were themed in a fashion meant promote efficient business ventures and the wellbeing of the entrepreneurs. The following were the sessional topics
Subsequent to the bootcamp sessions were mentorship sessions which saw Over 10 volunteer mentors were invited to help the participating startups in the learning journey to further deepen their understanding of the content their covering on the program. The mentors came from the following countries; India, Finland, USA, UK, China and Zambia. Assisting the mentors was a team of 5 speakers who lead the conversations during the mentorship sessions before inviting the mentors for deeper conversations with the startups. The most notable speaker was Mrs Violeta Bulc who is the former EU Minister of Transport and also former Deputy Prime Minister of Slovenia and Dr Christian King’ombe an expert in academia, business and development achieved over the last 25 years who is the Managing Director of 4IP Group one of our official partners on the program.
Later on together with 4IPGroup and Kinshasha Innovation Center from DR Congo, we held an e-pitching session where the startups were given an opportunity to pitch to investors from the European market.
